Sur le banc

Features

Everything below already exists in the app and serves a minor hockey team during the beta.

Schedule and attendance

  • Events grouped by day: games, practices and other events, with the arrival time in bold, the rink and directions (Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps).
  • In or out by swiping the card right or left, or with buttons.
  • More than one child on the team? One answer for the ones you pick, and for yourself when you also coach.
  • Event details: who is in, who hasn’t answered and who is out, player by player.
  • Add to your phone’s calendar, or subscribe to the team schedule.
  • A reminder the day before to those who haven’t answered; the manager or a coach can nudge them with one tap.
Schedule: events grouped by day, game card with arrival time, directions and In and Out buttons (sample data).

Who’s coming?

  • The manager and coaches see at a glance who will be there, and can answer for anyone if needed.
  • An answer that changes less than 24 hours before is flagged to the staff.
  • Colour-blind friendly: in is blue, out is orange.
Game details: list of players who are in and who haven’t answered, with jersey number and first name (sample data).

From the restaurant to the team party

  • Not just games and practices: a team dinner, a bowling outing or the end-of-season party go on the schedule like any other event, with the venue and directions.
  • The manager can ask how many guests are coming: each family says how many people are coming with them (parents, brothers and sisters).
  • The total adds up on its own, players, staff and guests: handy for booking a table or ordering pizza.

Team chat

  • One thread for the whole team, in real time.
  • Private threads about one or more players: their parents have access, even those who join later.
  • Reactions (👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 🎉 🏒) and “Seen by…”, like Messenger.
  • A private thread is read only by its members, the manager included.
  • A message written with no signal is sent when the signal comes back, with no duplicates.

Live game tracking and stats

  • A touch rink: swipe from where the shot starts to the net; a tap on the blue line or behind the goal line records an offside or an icing.
  • Goals and assists with our players’ numbers and first names; the opponent by number only.
  • Minor, double minor and major penalties, with the countdown and the power play.
  • Stop-time, running time or no clock; adjustable periods (U11: 14, 14 and 10 minutes) and overtime.
  • Game summary: goals and shots by period, goalies and save percentage, power plays, shot map.
  • Season stats by player: goals, assists, points and penalty minutes.
  • For families: a “Live” banner, the score in real time and a notification for each goal.
  • Share the final score and the summary as an image.
  • Free game, no account: everything stays on the phone, nothing is sent to a server.
Game summary: goals and shots by period, scoring summary with assists, penalties and power plays (sample data).

Works with no signal

  • The app installs on the home screen (iPhone and Android) and opens even in airplane mode.
  • Schedule, attendance and messages stay available; answers and messages are sent when the signal comes back.
  • App updates arrive on their own when you come back to the app.

League and tournament schedules

  • The manager imports the calendar file (.ics) exported from the league’s or a tournament’s platform.
  • Preview before applying: new games, changed games (before and after) and games missing from the file.
  • Nothing is ever deleted on its own, and importing the same file again changes nothing.
  • A time or rink change is flagged to families.
  • A central bank of rinks and associations (names, addresses, logos, colours and other ways of writing their names) recognizes opponents and rinks on import; game cards take on the opponent’s colours.
  • Two names that look alike? The app asks you to check instead of guessing, and remembers your choice.

Tournaments

  • A Tournament tab for the length of the tournament: hotel, group code to copy, booking deadline and “I booked” for each family.
  • Tournament venues, the day-by-day schedule and useful information.
  • Games linked to the tournament, with the round (preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, final), and the tournament record built from the scores.

Manager tools

  • Quick entry of several events at once, and event duplication.
  • Players, parents’ emails and staff; player import from a CSV file.
  • Clear roles: parent, supporter (grandparents), coach, manager. Access rules are enforced by the database, not just the app.
  • Access screen: who has signed in and who has turned on notifications.
  • Edit the schedule without notifying the team while you tidy up.
  • Data export (CSV or JSON) for a backup.

Notifications

  • New messages, reactions to my messages, schedule changes, a reminder the day before, live games and, for staff, attendance changes less than 24 hours before.
  • Each kind can be turned off in the profile.
  • A number on the app icon: unread messages and answers to give (iPhone and computer).
